End of Life Training Path
End of Life Training Path
The Cornwall & IoS End of Life (EoL) Learning Path was launched by the EoL education group at the Eden Project in November 2019. The EoL Learning Path was developed to support excellence in End of Life care, and it was decided from the outset that this should be available across the entire health and social care community in Cornwall.
The EoL learning path utilises Health Education England’s e-Learning for Healthcare resources (e-LfH) for end of life care (e-ELCA), and combines this with local virtual, face to face and e-learning sessions. The path is supported by a handheld passport which provides evidence of the learning achieved.
A badge is available for those that complete the learning path, and as added incentive the first person to hand in their passport will be treated to an afternoon tea for 2.
Throughout September, Louisa Forbes, Enhanced Health for Care Homes Nurse Manager, will host a friendly weekly ‘drop in’ session on MS Teams for you to find out more about the EoL Learning Path. This will include the opportunity to register and gain access to the calendar of virtual and face to face education sessions available in Cornwall. For those of you that have already signed up for the EoL Path (there are over 200 of you!), please use the group to catch up on how it is going and network with others.
If there is interest, Louisa would love to form a ‘EoL Care and Education, Care Sector Network Group’, and continue the lunch time drop ins on a monthly basis to share EoL Education Path ideas and experiences, and to encourage and support each other.
You can email Louisa for more details: louisa.forbes@nhs.net or find further details on Cornwall Hospice Care website.
