Embrace Care Update
Dear colleagues,
We wanted to update you on the plan for the Embrace Care programme in light of the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation. As you would expect in this unprecedented time, all of our local health and care colleague’s time, effort and attention is being prioritised to manage our proactive response to COVID-19.
We have therefore taken the decision to pause the Embrace Care programme as a whole so we can re-deploy people working on the programme to support management of COVID-19.
We will of course be building on what we have learnt already from Embrace Care. The programme was always intended to redesign care for older people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, who we now know are a high risk group for COVID-19. We are now looking at where we might need to accelerate roll-out to increase community capacity in the weeks and months ahead and deliver early on our commitment to provide urgent community response within two hours and community reablement within two days.
This will be our last email for a while. As soon as a decision is made to restart the programme we will be in touch.
For more information about COVID-19 and staying safe during the outbreak, please look at centralised websites:

Best wishes for the coming weeks. The Embrace Care team.
