Care Provider opportunity - Student Nurse placements in Social Care
Cornwall Primary Care Training Hub have funding to explore placement of pre-registration nursing students in social care settings. The Training Hub has a history of successful partnership with the private and voluntary sector. Hosting student nurses enables staff to reaffirm their own knowledge & skills. Students bring enquiring minds, infectious enthusiasm and are keen to help you deliver best care, often becoming inspired on placements. Students can help with care delivery, assist in daily activities, support development projects, and work alongside ALL staff
University of Plymouth is our academic support partner. More information about becoming a placement provider can be found on their website. Support is provided to meet their requirements, including free provision of Supervisors and Assessors if needed
What is involved? You would host a group of 4-5 students over 8 weeks. In addition to University Tutor support, students have a RN Practice Educator, visiting daily to provide supervision. They work with the host prior to the students arriving, to listen, understand and co-create the placement. They identify learning opportunities which can be shared by students and your existing workforce. Students are expected to understand and respect professional differences, whilst embracing collaboration to support care delivery and shared learning.
